Specialty Concerts

May 16th was spent getting the hardware hookups ready for all of the streaming events about to take place in Indian
River. The equipment was setup and the broadcaster was tested. Once tested I completed the links for the online component.

More System Updates

On May 14, Shawn and I spent the better half of the morning finishing the memory upgrades and Windows updates in the Intermediate School.

Indian River Updates

On May 10th the day was spent in the Intermediate School performing memory upgrades and windows updates.

Indian River Streaming

Yesterday I spent the majority of the day updating the Indian River Streaming site. I updated links and added the necessary images as well as restarting the server.

Video Conference for LOTE Members

On April 27, Todd, Christy, and I setup a videoconference with Lowville, General Brown, and Thousand Island French teachers so that their students could talk to each other. Each site took turns asking and answering question about themselves. Conducted over three periods we had a three way conference setup and then 2 two way conferences after that.

Streaming at Indian River

April 25th and 26th were dedicated to getting setup for the various concerts that are going to be streamed in the oncoming weeks. We visited all of the buildings checking their initial setups and planned the best way to shoot each event. Also from the web perspective I setup all of the stream pages so as we are barraged with events I’m not creating any new code I’m simply interchanging what I have already created.

LaFargeville VEI Day

On April 17, I spent the afternoon n Lafargeville showing members of the staff that were participating in a computer camp the ins and outs of video conferencing. We went over the various facets of videoconferencing like sites to look for programs and the possible collaborations available for teachers in other districts. Also I went over the hardware and software associated with video conferencing and showed them some different room layout and things that they have to be conscious of when they are conducting a video conference.

General Maintenance

On April 18th I spent the day doing general maintenance on all of the pages, there was a lot to clean up as far as employee names and pages.

Technology Teacher At Indian River High School

On April 16th, I helped Craig DeForest build a web page for his classroom. We built it so he could put up his own materials as well as student projects look and keep a trendy feel to it to keep the students engaged.

IHC Tech Audit

On April 13th, Scott Carpenter and I went to IHC and performed a tech audit to establish where their T1 line was coming in. It appears that their T1 line is not going anywhere so we have to get some representatives from Westelcom to show us where everything is at.
